What Decides the Size, and What Decides the Saving
Two numbers decide whether this machine suits you. The first is what it still produces once the air turns cold, because a heat pump loses output as the temperature falls. We size yours against minus 18, the coldest night the Building Code expects here.
The second number matters just as much. That cold night is the worst case, not the average, and your house spends most of the winter well above it. Through those milder weeks a heat pump is cheaper to run than the furnace, and that is where the saving comes from. We size for the cold night, then choose the equipment on the rest of the season.
We settle the electrical supply early. A heat pump draws more current than an air conditioner does, so a technician reads your panel while we are quoting. A panel with no spare capacity means extra work, and you should hear about that in the quote rather than in February.
The Rebate Money, and the Figure That Applies to Your House
There is provincial money on a heat pump, and the figure on the posters is not what most houses here collect. The amount depends on what your house burns today, and we would rather give you the real figure up front.
Houses heated by gas today
The Home Renovation Savings Program requires a live Enbridge residential account. Enbridge is the only company distributing gas in this city, so your home meets that condition. The rate is $500 for every ton of capacity, which is how the trade measures size, and it stops at $2,000.
Houses on oil, propane, wood or electricity
A higher rate applies, and the same program pays as much as $7,500 toward a cold climate machine. The larger figures on the posters were written for these homes. We check your group against your own bills, so we never quote you a rebate you cannot claim.
What a Heat Pump Quote Here Includes
Every heat pump we quote carries all eight of these steps.
- We measure your rooms and prove on the page that the machine holds them.
- We check your rebate group against your own heating bill, so the quoted figure is what you collect.
- We file the paperwork and have the written approval back before anything is ordered.
- We read your panel early and price any electrical work we find.
- We set the outdoor unit on a level pad, where the city allows it and you have agreed.
- We run and seal the refrigerant lines and finish the wall where they pass through.
- We fit and set up the control that decides which of the two heats the house.
- We prove the heating and the cooling, set the handover point with you, and file the warranty.
Please tell us two things on the first call. A home that already has a heat pump cannot claim the rebate, and a job already started collects nothing, so approval comes before the work.
The Three Setups We Fit, and Who Each One Suits
Dual fuel, keeping the furnace you own
The heat pump carries the everyday heating and the furnace waits for the hardest nights. Most houses here choose this setup, because the gas is already at the meter and the furnace is paid for.
All-electric, through your ducts
This setup uses no gas at all, with electric backup behind the heat pump. A house already heated by electricity earns the higher rebate rate, so the arithmetic moves in your favour.
Ductless heads, one room at a time
One unit outside feeds a head in each room you want covered, with no ducting involved. In a house where nothing can carry air from room to room, this is how an older place gets a heat pump.
The fuel that heats the house now decides which of the three suits you, and we tell you which on the first visit. All three are air source systems, which need a pad outside and a wall for the lines to pass through. Our heat pump installation page lists the cold climate models we carry. For a house without ducts, ductless mini split installation is where to start.
What Moves the Price
The electrical work, the position of the outdoor unit and the state of the ductwork matter as much here as the machine does, so we price the job after the visit rather than over the phone. Our financing options page explains how to spread whatever is left once the rebate arrives.
| The setup | What we actually install | What decides the number |
|---|---|---|
| Dual fuel, your gas furnace stays | We install a cold climate unit in the yard, a coil sized to it, and one control choosing between the pair. | What the rooms need, the tier of equipment you pick, and whether a spare circuit exists on the panel. |
| All-electric, using your ducts | The heat pump covers the whole season, with electric backup standing behind it. | How large that backup has to be, what your service will carry, and how much air the existing ducts can move. |
| Ductless heads | We install a single outdoor unit, one head per room you want covered, and a drilled hole for each line run. | The head count, and the distance every run has to travel. |
The rebate does not reduce our price, but it does reduce what you pay. The approval has to come back before we order, so we file on the day you say yes.
The People Behind the Sizing and the Set-Up
The sizing calculation, the rebate application and the control setting all come from the same technician here. If you split them between two companies, the gaps between them become your problem, usually in February.
More than 10 years of this work
Sina, the owner, is usually the technician on your driveway, so the person who sizes your system also commissions it.
Authorized Lennox Dealer
It puts factory training and genuine parts behind the cold climate equipment we install.

Homeowners choose the winners, and we have won five times.
Your panel read before the price
We read your electrical service while we are quoting, so any upgrade is in your plan and your price from the start.
Sina did a fantastic installation of my air conditioning and furnace. He’s very old school does everything to perfection. I’m so pleased with his work and have showed it to several friends who were also impressed. I would strongly advise you to call Sina, you will not be disappointed. Excellent workmanship and he’s also great person. Thanks again Mike

Four Steps, and the Rebate Filed First
We have the written approval in hand before anyone orders equipment.
Start with what you burn today
Phone us or send the form. We need the fuel, the name on the bill, and how much of the heating you want handed over.
We size it, and we read the panel
Your technician measures every room, checks what your electrical service can carry, agrees where the outdoor unit goes, and works out your rebate group.
The price and the rebate, in writing
The quote prices the equipment, the controls, any electrical work and the rebate separately. We file the application as soon as you accept it.
We run it both ways before we leave
We fit the pad, the lines, the wiring and the controls first. The machine then warms the house and cools it with you watching, and we set the handover point.
The parts of Stratford we cover
We are installing heat pumps right across this city, and your panel usually decides how simple the job turns out. A century house off John Street South and a new build at Avon West need different answers from the same machine. Tell us your street and we will book the visit.
